Full Roof Installation
We remove the existing roof, and inspect the existing plywood or sheeting to ensure that it is in proper condition to support the new roof. This process takes 2-3 days, depending on size and weather conditions. Then, a 1x3 drip metal at the gutter edge of the roof is installed. Next up is underlayment, which can be either 30 lb felt or synthetic underlayment. Then we install 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 rake metal at the gable ends of the roof. Then we install CertainTeed Landmark 30-year Algae-Resistant Composition Shingles.
Leak Repairs
We inspect the area where leak is, and repair based on issue: could be torn shingles, damaged pipe flashing, damaged vents, or excess moss on the roof.
Moss Removal
We use a soft wire brush or plastic broom- we do not pressure wash or use compressed air, as that will damage the shingles.
Moss Treatment
We use zinc sulfate powder or liquid formula to treat the moss.
Gutter Cleaning
We remove any debris from gutters.
Attic Ventilation
We verify that there is adequate air intake and air outtake ventilation. If not, we use ShingleVent® II continuous ridge ventilation. We make sure bathroom and dryer ducts are connected to proper hood vents and we inspect the attic and make sure there is plenty of insulation.
